Guidelines for foreign candidates wishing to study in the Graduate Program in Veterinary Medicine (Animal Clinics and Reproduction) may vary depending on the candidate’s institution of origin.
However, some requirements and steps are common for all candidates:
- Academic Requirements: The candidate must have a degree in Veterinary Medicine. They must present their academic transcript and diploma officially translated into Portuguese if they were issued in another language.
- Selection Process: In our selection Notices, we make vacancies available exclusively for foreign candidates. Information about our Selection Notice is available in a specific tab on this website. We suggest reading previous notices to provide candidates with the necessary information regarding the documentation required to complete the selection process. It is possible to carry out specific procedures during the selection process to enable the candidate to participate in the Notice, such as carrying out the selection process online.
- Scholarships: The Graduate Program has scholarships available to its students, and these scholarships are distributed to candidates and students according to the exclusive evaluation of their resumes. The availability of scholarships varies according to the offer of scholarships from federal and state funding agencies.
- Student Visa: To study in Brazil, the candidate will need to apply for a student visa at the Brazilian consulate in their country of origin. This visa is granted to candidates accepted into Graduate Programs.
The Graduate Program in Veterinary Medicine can offer both master’s and doctoral courses. The specific requirements of each may vary in terms of length of time, type of research, and the selection criteria are different. In our Bylaws (available on our website), we provide the requirements for obtaining these titles.
Although Portuguese is the main language, UFF, through the Modern Foreign Languages Program (PROLEM), offers courses of Brazilian Portuguese for Foreigners.
It is highly recommended that candidates contact the Graduate Program coordinator before applying to clarify any doubts about the selection process, specific requirements, and research opportunities. Contact is made via email:mpv.cmv@id.uff.br
